The weather will start out with a sharp precipitation gradient across the area for Memorial Day extending into Tuesday morning. A trough will approach from the west and slowly move through the area. After the trough clears the area weak high pressure will be the primary weather influence until the weekend when we return to a more seasonable pattern.

Overall we have a 40% chance for precipitation, but the precipitation gradient will set up so that the better rain chances are west of I-45, and taper off towards the east. Although the Weather Prediction Center has a marginal chance for excessive rainfall west of Galveston Bay we are dry so the flooding threat would be low.

Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s on Monday and Tuesday, and then warm to the mid 90s by Friday, except closer to the coast where the Gulf waters will keep the temperature a few degrees lower.

This same weather pattern holds true for the Golden Triangle, but a day later than described above like will occur in the Houston area. Memorial Day will be sunny and warm, with rain moving in on Tuesday and tapering off on Wednesday.
